LARGO, MD - The Prince George's County Department of Environmental Resouces (DER) has expanded its household hazardous waste collection
to include used cooking oil and cooking grease.
Residents can bring their used cooking oil and grease to the Household Hazardous Waste Acceptance Site located at the Brown
Station Road Sanitary Landfill in Upper Marlboro (use 11611 White House Road entrance). The site is open every Sunday from
7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Commercial vehicles or pick-up trucks displaying a business name will not be allowed at the Brown
Station Road Sanitary Landfill on Sundays.
Other items accepted at the Household Hazardous Waste Acceptance Site include: Oil-based paints Insecticides Herbicides Paint thinners Swimming pool chemicals Unwanted fuels (gasoline, kerosene) Used motor oil Chemistry sets Photographic chemicals Brake fluid Antifreeze Car batteries
Unacceptable items include: Latex paint Radioactive materials Asbestos Normal trash or special pick-up items Commercial, industrial or medical wastes (including biologically active wastes)
