On December 6, 2010, the Honorable Rushern L. Baker III, was sworn in as the County Executive for Prince George’s County, Maryland. Mr. Baker has asked me to serve as the Interim Chief while his transition team evaluates candidates for the permanent position of Chief of Police. I am humbled by his request and feel fortunate to be entrusted with the opportunity.
During my 27 years of service with the Department, I have experienced these transitions on several occasions. While change is not always a welcome occurrence, history has demonstrated that it frequently offers an organization the opportunity to move forward. I am energized with this opportunity to partner with each and every one of you as we progress into the future.
