Public Affairs Division
The Public Affairs Division is comprised of the Media Affairs Section, the Television Studio, the Graphic Artist, Special Projects and Crime Solvers. The division is responsible for all internal and external communications of the Prince George's County Police Department.

The Media Affairs Section is the primary source of Police Department related information for the media. This office is responsible for providing timely and accurate information to all media outlets, and coordinating requests for information between the media and unit commanders. Media Affairs also manages daily postings of Press Releases to the Police Department website, regularly updates the Prince George's County Police Blog, PGPD Press Office Twitter, PGPD Facebook, and PGPD YouTube pages, as well as administering the Crime Solvers Program.

Press Information Officers can be contacted directly by calling (301) 772-4710.
Audio-visual, still photography and related services are provided to the Police Department by the Television Studio. The Graphic Artist provides artistic service. Special Projects provides support for a variety of missions throughout the Department to include the awards process, promotional ceremonies, Christmas in April, and summer hiring.

Submitting Media and Freedom of Information Act (FIOA) Requests
Requests for information from media representatives, including FIOA requests from reporters, should be submitted by electronic mail to the Media Affairs mailbox at Police_PAO@co.pg.md.us. Such requests should include specific questions to be addressed with as much detail as possible. Persons requesting information must include their name, the name of the organization they represent, as well as any contact information. Any applicable deadlines should be included in the e-mail request. Efforts will be made to meet specific deadlines, within reason. However, requests will be handled in the order they are received.
Once a request has been submitted to the Media Affairs Section, a reply email will be sent verifying receipt of the request and will include a Request Tracking Number. The Request Tracking Number should then be used to reference the request in any follow-up correspondence.

Obtaining a Report
Citizens wishing to obtain a copy of a Police Incident Report should call the Records Management Division at (301) 985-3660.
