*During First Saturday hours the public must enter through the commissioners office entrance in order to gain access to our office. The commissioners office is located on the back side of the courthouse next to the loading docks.
Appointments available. Please call. Starting Wednesday July 16, 2008, the office will be open from 8:30 a.m. -5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. First Saturday for the month of September will be held on September 8th.

What is the Register of Wills Office?
The Office of Register of Wills is a public office established under the Constitution of the State of Maryland. The Constitution provides for a Register from each county and the City of Baltimore. Each Register is elected by qualified voters for a four-year term of office at the time of the gubernatorial election.
What does the Register of Wills do?
The Register of Wills is responsible for appointing personal representatives to administer the deceased's estates and for overseeing the proper and timely administration of these proceedings.
We also provide the following services to the community:
Safekeeping of Wills;
Assist and advise the public in the preparation of all required forms and maintain and preserve the permanent record of all proceedings;
Serve as the Clerk to the Orphans' Court;
Guardianships of minors and property;
Public computers available for genealogical research for decedents of Prince George's County and public viewing of estates.
