Immunizations (Shots) for Children
One of the most important things parents can do to protect their children from vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles, mumps, and polio, is to make sure their children receive all their immunizations. The Health Department Immunization Clinics (see flyer below in both English and Spanish for current times available) provide age appropriate vaccines to children age one month through twenty years. Vaccines for Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Polio, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Haemophilus type B, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Meningococcal, Pneumonia and Varicella are given according to the schedule provided by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Education and instruction about the immunization schedule are provided for parents at the immunization clinics.
