dhcd3 The Housing Authority owns and manages 392 units of public and assisted housing in Prince George’s County. There are 376 public housing units, of which 296 units are for the elderly and disabled, and 80 are family units. In addition, there are 16 units of assisted housing located at the Coral Gardens property. There are 5 public housing properties. They are 1100 Owens Road, Cottage City Towers, Rollingcrest Village, Marlborough Towne and Kimberly Gardens.

dhcd2Services to the elderly and disabled residents of public housing include case management and referral services for those at risk of lease termination. The waiting lists for these properties are managed by the Central Intake Unit of the DHCD. Each applicant must meet the eligibility and suitability criteria for Public Housing. Applicants who are housed are required to be re-certified annually, for income eligibility determination. For further information, call the Central Intake Unit at (301) 883- 5050.

The Housing Authority of Prince George’s County (HAPGC) is procuring the services of a qualified Professional Auditing Firm to provide financial auditing services. The audit will be of the Housing Authorities accounting books and records along with confirming the organization’s compliance with federal laws, regulations and grant requirements for its fiscal year ending June 30, 2013.

The work must be conducted and a report provided which is in accord with the regulations for Compliance and Internal Control Over Financial Reporting based on an audit of the financial statements. The audit must be performed in accordance with Government Auditing Standards, the Single Audit Act and OMB Circular A-133. Respondents must be Certified Public Accountants, licensed to perform such services in Maryland, and have recent experience auditing Public Housing Authorities.

The HAPGC will accept proposals until 2 p.m., Local time Friday, July 12, 2013, at 9400 Peppercorn Place, Largo, Maryland 20774, at which time and place all proposals will be stamped and placed on file for evaluation, ranking and negotiations.
