County to receive millions from Pepco-Exelon merger


County Executive Baker joined Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett last week to announce millions of dollars in community benefits that residents of their respective counties will receive from the approval of the Pepco-Exelon merger. For Prince George's government, the initial benefits includes $4.4 million for energy efficiency programs, $6 million for a Green Sustainability Fund to stimulate public and private investment in energy and sustainability projects, and $310,000 to develop the Sustainable Energy Workforce Development Program.
