Women, Infants & Children (WIC)

WIC Program
The Prince George’s County Health Department has a Woman, Children and Infants (WIC) program which provides supplemental nutrition services for women, infants and children if you meet WIC eligibility guidelines.

To make an appointment, call WIC Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at 301-856-9600.
Services include:
  • Assessing and monitoring blood levels for potential iron deficiency anemia
  • Assessing and monitoring infants and children growth
  • Assessing and monitoring pregnancy weight gain
  • Coordinating participants' health services with their primary care providers
  • Distributing Farmers' Market coupons to purchase fruits and vegetables during summer months
  • Giving vouchers to purchase nutritious foods and infant formulas
  • Help managing excessive weight and chronic health conditions
  • Promoting and supporting breastfeeding
  • Promoting mother and child welfare and healthy behaviors
  • Providing group nutrition education and individual counseling
  • Providing resources and referrals to other health care organizations and social services
