Commercial Exterior Case Types

Building Permit applications are to be completed online. Please go to Online Permit Applications; enter the information directly into the County’s Permitting System; and print three (3) copies of the computer-generated application prior to visiting the Permits Center. (Printers are NOT available onsite for customers.)


Commercial Exterior Case Types (CE, CEU, CEW, CEUW)


Work Description for CE


Awning; Canopy; Fence (non-use i.e., replacement of previously existing fence); General Exterior Work; Reface (store front); and Roof (change in pitch or configuration); Exterior Generator/Pad; Concrete Pad; New or Replacement Antennas
  • Work Description for CEU: Canopy; Fence with Use (storage yard)
  • Work Description for CEUW: Fence with Use
  • Work Description for CEW: Above ground Tank; Roof Replacement; Awning Replacement; Pavilion

CE/CEU: Not a Walk-Thru


Documents/Approvals Required with a New Use and Occupancy
  • Five (5) Site/Plot Plans - Original Signature and Sealed (not required if no new U&O)
  • Two (2) Architectural Drawings - Original Signature and Sealed
  • Two (2) Structural Drawings - Original Signature and Sealed
  • Two (2) Electrical Drawings - Original Signature and Sealed (if applicable)

CEUW: Walk-Thru


Documents/Approvals Required with a New Use and Occupancy

CEUW: For a Fence


Five (5) Site / Plot Plans Showing Fence Location. Ensure fence locations are highlighted on the plans. All gates must be 20 feet wide. Must show location of fire hydrant.

CEUW: For a Canopy
