County Based Business Certification

The Supplier Development and Diversity Division is administering County Based Business Certifications (CBBC). If your businesses is located in Prince George's County OR the majority of your revenue is generated in the county, then please explore registering for this new certification. Additionally, by applying for this CBB certification, your business will be potentially eligible for preferences in doing business with the County. Under the Jobs First Act, SDDD began certifying companies as County-based firms January 1, 2013. The new bidding preferences and participation requirements for certified local, small, minority, disadvantaged, veteran and service disabled veteran-owned businesses went into effect July 1, 2013.

Additionally, SDDD created a process for certifying small businesses electronically. "With the large amount of opportunities that are coming to Prince George's County, it is imperative for the County to be able to accept online applications for County-based certifications," said Roland L. Jones, Director of Central Services. "This new technology will help to streamline the certification process and enable companies to be certified more efficiently." The County-based Certification process can take up to 90 days upon receipt of the online application. Companies who want to be certified with Prince George's County as a County-based firm can apply online.
